Schrader to compete in 2010 Budweiser Shootout

Veteran NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Ken Schrader, a long time ARCA Racing Series presented by RE/MAX and Menards driver and car owner, has announced that he will compete in the 2010 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Budweiser Shootout at Daytona Int'l Speedway.

Schrader, who will serve as a car owner in this year's Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200 ARCA race at Daytona, will drive the No. 82 Red Bull Toyota normally piloted by former ARCA racer Scott Speed in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. The non-points race directly follows the Saturday, February 6 Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200 ARCA race.

Schrader earned a starting spot in this season's Bud Shootout by virtue of Shootout wins in 1989 and '90. He has 45 NSCS starts at Daytona with seven top-five finishes and 22 top-10s. Beyond NASCAR, Schrader has been a staple in ARCA Racing since 1981, earning 15 career wins, 15 pole awards, 38 top-5 finishes and 45 top-10s among 58 starts. In fact, he made his ARCA Racing debut in the 1981 ARCA race at Daytona.

"I am tremendously excited to be in a top-caliber car," Schrader said. "Pairing up with a strong teammate like Brian Vickers and the whole Red Bull organization for this event has me on Cloud 9.".
